Dining Options

There’s nothing like a candlelit dinner in an 18th-century tavern to take you away from 21st-century concerns. Enjoy a true “taste of history” during your visit by having a meal at one of our historic dining taverns, where the favorite foods of the colonists are still on the menu along with some modern interpretations. Whether you prefer seafood, vegetarian dishes, or heartier fare, you’re sure to find something that will please your palate.

Or dine in one of our other restaurants. Experience culinary classics and seasonal favorites in the refined elegance of the Regency Room, savor American cuisine with contemporary southern and Chesapeake influences in the new Williamsburg Lodge Restaurant, relish a tasty pizza at Huzzah!, or enjoy light fare at one of the Golden Horseshoe Clubhouse grills. There’s something for every taste in Colonial Williamsburg’s restaurants.

Group Meals

The tantalizing aroma of just-baked Sally Lunn bread, candlelit dining rooms, pewterware-appointed tables . . . a meal at one of Colonial Williamsburg’s historic dining taverns will be the delicious centerpiece of your group’s visit, as it was for many a pre-Revolutionary traveler. Costumed wait staff will bid you welcome, and wandering balladeers may serenade you. You may even enjoy a tableside visit by one of our tavern proprietors. Dining at a Colonial Williamsburg historic tavern captures all your senses—especially your sense of fun.

Begin your lunch or dinner with a garden green salad or a bowl of corn chowder or King’s Arms peanut soup. For lunch, enjoy entrée selections such as chicken pottage pye, crab cake sandwich, or broiled chopped beefsteak. Dinner entrée selections include southern-fried or roasted chicken, roasted pork loin, roasted prime rib, fillet of salmon, or Mobjack Bay–seasoned crab cake. All entrées are served with a side of seasonal vegetables or tavern-style potatoes. Desserts, such as rice pudding, Williamsburg pecan pie, fruit cobbler, or rum cream pie, are fine endings to great meals. All meals include choice of coffee, tea, or fountain beverage.
