“No Master Over Me” wins 2005 Emmy

Colonial Williamsburg Productions received its first Emmy award from the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences which recognized the Electronic Field Trip “No Master Over Me” with outstanding achievement and excellence. Colonial Williamsburg producers Bill Wagner, Frances Burroughs, and Linda Randulfe were honored June 10, 2006, with an Emmy statuette, along with former Colonial Williamsburg Associate Producer Henry McCoy.

MUSE Awards The American Association of Museums media and technology committee has honored several electronic field trips for their use of technology in two-way communication.

Technology & Learning Award of Excellence

Think Like a Historian CD-ROM (Grades 1-3, Grades 4-6) won the Technology & Learning Magazine's 2005 Award of Ecellence (GR 4-6). Colonial Williamsburg’s Electronic Field Trip “Taxes, Tea, and Tyranny” received a 2002 Award of Excellence, recognizing the best in K-12 educational software and Web sites. “Taxes, Tea, and Tyranny” was one of 27 winners selected from more than 120 submitted entries.

Distance Learning Award

Colonial Williamsburg's Electronic Field Trips series won the 2005 Best Practices in Programming Award - Gold level and the 2002 Excellence in K-12 Programming for its distance learning programs. The national award is presented by the U.S. Distance Learning Association (USDLA).

Top 100 Educational Web Sites of 2002

Homeschool.com named the web site for Electronic Field Trips of Colonial Williamsburg as one of the Top 100 Educational Web Sites of 2002. Homeschool.com provides resources to homeschoolers and parents about customizing homeschool education.

The Web Prize The Japan Prize, a prestigious international awards competition for educational television programming, awarded the Electronic Field Trips of Colonial Williamsburg series with its inaugural Web Prize in November 2001. The Web Prize recognizes television programs integrated with Internet technology.
